Acupuncturist

Hi,  I'm Alison,

After graduating, as a physiotherapist, I worked at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust treating neurological patients. I then moved into teaching at Huddersfield University, where I was a Senior Physiotherapy Lecturer.

I used acupuncture in my physio practice and having seen the effects it could have on pain, I decided to study it in more depth and enrolled in an Honours Degree course at the Northern College of Acupuncture. After completing the first year  I knew this was what I wanted to do full-time so left teaching to concentrate on my studies. After graduating with a First Class BSc (Hons) Degree in Acupuncture I set up AP Acupuncture,

Working with people to help improve their quality of life is why I became a therapist and the desire to do this is still as strong as ever. I am now in the privileged position of being able to do this by combining western and eastern approaches to health, using the best of both to help people achieve their Health and Wellbeing goals.

I am part of the teaching team at The Northern College of Acupuncture, so still get to indulge my love of teaching.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and fully insured through membership of the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians. I am licensed with Leeds and Harrogate City Councils.

I am always happy to talk about acupuncture so if you are thinking about giving it a try why not give me a ring or send me a message, I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

What people say about AP Acupuncture

I have only been going to see Alison a short while. But already, I am benefitting from the results. She is extremely knowledgeable and full of wisdom.

Apart from her being highly professional, what comes across is her Gentleness, Compassion and Warmth.

As soon as she opens the door, you feel extremely welcomed and relaxed.

I truly couldn't recommend Alison highly enough.

I truly feel blessed, that she is my practioner
