Acupuncture for Health & Wellbeing
Live life how you want to

Hi, I'm Alison
People often ask how I became an acupuncturist so here is a bit about my journey.
I originally trained as a physiotherapist in London, moving back to Yorkshire to work at Leeds General Infirmary. I then moved into teaching at Huddersfield University. After 13 years I decided it was time for a change.
I'd had acupuncture and was so impressed with the effects I decided I wanted to study it in more depth and enrolled at the Northern college of Acupuncture. I graduated three years later with a First Class Honours Degree in Acupuncture and set up my practice, which is based in Otley and Knaresborough.
All my working life has been spent in healthcare, and I am passionate about helping individuals navigate their health concerns. I take the time to listen and understand how your health issues affect your life. My approach ensures that your treatment is tailored to your unique needs.
I am always happy to discuss how acupuncture might help, so please don't hesitate to get in touch if you need more information.

I have only been going to see Alison a short while. But already, I am benefitting from the results. She is extremely knowledgeable and full of wisdom.
Apart from her being highly professional, what comes across is her Gentleness, Compassion and Warmth.
As soon as she opens the door, you feel extremely welcomed and relaxed.
I truly couldn't recommend Alison highly enough.
I truly feel blessed, that she is my practioner
Alison has been treating me since just before starting a course of chemotherapy and her approach, knowledge and expertise have given me complete confidence in acupuncture therapy under her guidance. With two rounds of chemotherapy behind me and managing the side effects well, acupuncture has become an important part of my overall treatment and I’m glad to have Alison working with me to give my body the best chance of recovery
I was very skeptical about acupuncture but I thought I would give it a go, I have been very pleasantly surprised at how it has helped with my problem.
Alison took the time to explain the treatment and what to expect, her enthusiasm for the subject and her knowledge are plain to see.
I've been seeing Alison for pain in my thumbs and big toes which have arthritis. She used a machine on me and the effects were great. Pain reduced in both areas and my walking felt easier.
